Project #3227 — Mississauga, Ontario
Quick Facts

- Duration: ~3.5 weeks
- Service Provided: Kitchen Renovation
- Project Area: ~150 sq ft
The homeowners wanted a kitchen that felt modern yet warm — bright enough for everyday cooking but cozy enough for evening gatherings.
Reno Mumu designed this Mississauga kitchen renovation around layered lighting, neutral finishes, and modern ergonomics, creating a space that blends comfort, beauty, and function.
Design Vision — Warmth Meets Modern Simplicity
Modern kitchens can sometimes feel cold or overly minimal.
Our design for Project 3227 focused on soft, inviting light and tactile materials to balance contemporary lines with warmth.
Core Concepts:
- Warm LED lighting (3000 K) to create a natural, relaxing atmosphere.
- Minimalist white cabinetry paired with light wood accents for contrast.
- Quartz island with soft edge profile for comfort and flow.
- Matte finishes to diffuse light and reduce glare.
- Integrated appliances for a seamless, modern look.
Lighting Strategy — The Heart of the Design
Lighting was the defining feature of this renovation. Instead of relying on a single source, the space uses a layered system:
- Ceiling downlights: evenly spaced 4” LED fixtures in warm white (3000 K) for ambient lighting.
- Under-cabinet strips: hidden linear LEDs to eliminate counter shadows.
- Pendant lights: warm-glow feature above the island, highlighting quartz textures.
- Toe-kick lighting: subtle floor glow for nighttime ambiance.
All fixtures were installed with dimmer controls to adjust mood and brightness through the day — a critical element of comfort in modern design.
