Project — Toronto Downtown 30
Quick Facts
- Location: Toronto Downtown
- Service: Kitchen Renovation
- Duration: ~1 month
- Scope: Design, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, installation, and inspection
A Kitchen Where Light Meets Simplicity
In the heart of downtown Toronto, this kitchen renovation (Project 30) showcases how minimalism and warmth can coexist.
The client’s vision was clear — a bright, all-white kitchen that still felt natural, inviting, and functional for daily cooking.
To achieve that, we combined matte white cabinetry, light oak hardwood flooring, and a square kitchen island that doubles as a meal prep station and casual dining area.
The space was once narrow and dim. Through smart lighting, soft color tones, and efficient layout redesign, we created a kitchen that now feels open, breathable, and timelessly modern.
“The square island became the heart of the kitchen — practical, social, and perfectly balanced with light.”
Design Goals
- Maximize brightness through reflective white cabinetry and quartz countertops.
- Use light hardwood flooring to create warmth and a natural aesthetic under daylight.
- Center the space around a square prep table/island for functionality and flow.
- Enhance lighting layers with natural light and LED task illumination.
- Ensure long-term durability with waterproof finishes and high-quality fittings.

4-Week Renovation Timeline
Week 1 — Demolition & Planning
Removed existing cabinetry and flooring. Reworked electrical circuits to support layered lighting and island power supply. Measured site for custom cabinetry fabrication.
Week 2 — Flooring & Cabinetry Installation
Installed light hardwood flooring, creating a smooth visual base that reflects sunlight. Mounted upper and lower white cabinets for a crisp, continuous design line.
Week 3 — Countertops, Island & Lighting
Templated and installed quartz countertops. The square prep island was fitted centrally for symmetry and flow. Lighting layers were calibrated to eliminate dark zones.
Week 4 — Final Detailing & Handover
Painted trims, sealed joints, and added stainless-steel appliances. Conducted ESA and plumbing inspections. The kitchen was ready for use by the end of week four.
The Result — A Bright, Airy Downtown Kitchen
This new Toronto kitchen embodies calm sophistication.
The white cabinets and quartz surfaces reflect sunlight during the day, while warm LEDs maintain cozy brightness at night.
The light hardwood flooring ties the entire space together — its subtle texture and neutral tone soften the modern look.
At the center, the square kitchen island serves as the perfect multitask zone — from chopping vegetables to sharing coffee. Its symmetry brings harmony to the space, while maintaining a sense of casual elegance.
“This kitchen feels like it belongs to the city — bright, efficient, and full of life.”
