Project #2361 — Oakville, Ontario
Quick Facts
- Location: Oakville (Project 2361)
- Duration: ~2.5 weeks
- Area: ~120 sq ft
- Scope: Full bathroom renovation with irregular layout optimization, LED mirror, waterproofing, and freestanding tub installation.
A Story of Light and Space
Every renovation tells a story — and Project 2361 in Oakville is a story of light finding its shape inside an irregularly built master bathroom.
The existing space had angled walls, uneven corners, and a narrow window that made the room feel smaller than it really was. The challenge wasn’t just cosmetic; it was spatial.
The homeowner dreamed of something bright, modern, and symmetrical — a place where light and geometry could coexist.
Our design team at Reno Mumu transformed the irregular floor plan into a harmonious, spa-inspired layout, anchored by a custom-built LED mirror that spans almost the entire vanity wall, paired with a freestanding tub and glass-enclosed shower area.
The result: a bathroom that feels larger, calmer, and beautifully balanced, despite its unconventional shape.
Design Vision
The goal was to embrace the irregularity — not hide it.
By aligning fixtures along new visual lines and reflecting light strategically, we turned asymmetry into rhythm.
Key design themes:
- Brightness achieved through layered LED lighting and reflective surfaces.
- Custom extra-long LED mirror that elongates the wall visually.
- Wet-dry separation: walk-in shower behind clear frameless glass.
- Freestanding tub positioned at the room’s widest angle for balance.
- Textured tiles and soft quartz for tactile harmony.
“We didn’t change the structure — we changed the perception of space.”

Design Process & Timeline
Week 1 — Demolition & Spatial Redesign
We removed the old corner tub and short vanity, exposing the room’s natural angles. Instead of forcing symmetry, we realigned visual flow — turning one uneven wall into the new mirror axis.
Rough-ins for lighting and plumbing were completed alongside waterproof prep and floor leveling.
Week 2 — Installation & Waterproofing
We built a frameless wet area behind a clear divider, separating the shower zone from the tub without blocking light.
The extra-long LED mirror was installed flush into the tile line, creating the illusion of a wider wall.
All surfaces received dual-layer waterproof protection according to Ontario building standards.
Week 3 — Finishing & Final Inspection
Fixtures, quartz countertops, and trim were installed with precision.
Final lighting calibration balanced brightness to reduce glare and create uniform reflection.
The result was a room that felt both architectural and relaxing, perfectly adapting to its irregular structure.
The Final Look — Where Angles Meet Harmony
Standing in this bathroom, you immediately notice how light travels across every surface.
The custom LED mirror acts like a horizon line, visually stretching the space.
On the right, the freestanding tub invites calm reflection under the glow of natural and artificial light.
The glass shower stays transparent — dividing space functionally without interrupting flow.
Every design decision was intentional: to create a sense of weightless brightness inside a once-crowded room.
Bright doesn’t always mean white — it means balanced illumination and thoughtful reflection.
